Bilingual Junior Disability Claims Specialist

Employment Responsibilities

Must be able to do things like:

  • Assess various types of claims for eligibility for benefits and makes decisions within service standards: assessment includes evaluation of medical documentation and contractual provisions and pursuing additional information if necessary to make a sound decision
  • Plan, implement and evaluate sound case management principles
  • Responsible for professional and accurate verbal and written communication with all stakeholders.
  • Manage assigned portfolio and become subject matter expert on assigned groups.

Windley Ely is looking to recruit a Bilingual Junior Disability Claims Specialist who is interested in helping people.  You understand that no two cases are alike, and want to help support all parties through the absense management process to the point of resolution.

Working with a qualified team of high-energy people like yourself, you would manage a block of short-term disability or absence management cases.  You would be responsible for every part of the disability claim process, from the initial decision, to building the right case management plan, and coordinating with the absent employee, employer and providers involved in the case.

  • 1-2 years experience or equivalent education related to disability claims management
  •  Analytical skills, detail orientation and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in the decision-making process especially when under pressure.
  • Strong team-player skills and cooperative attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to deal effectively with the public, peers, and co-workers.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills and the ability to communicate complex and difficult information clearly with tact and sensitivity
  • A general understanding of the health care and insurance fields, health related terminology, concepts of accommodation and return to work
  • Bilingual (English/French) written and spoken is required.
